VALVOLINE SIMPLIFIES ENGINE CARE
BARENDRECHT, The Netherlands – Valvoline, the world’s first lubricant brand, is launching several new products and revised branding across its product ranges in a move to make it easier for consumers, retailers and garages to choose better engine care. Bold visual treatments and clear product benefit statements are major features of the new packaging graphics aimed at making it easier to select the right products for different vehicles and driving conditions.
“The lubricants market is becoming more complicated, as auto manufacturers create new specifications to satisfy their engines”, explains John Noal, Vice President of Valvoline EMEA. “The message coming to us from the market is that it’s difficult to know which products to stock and use, so we created a new product line-up that makes it clear which Valvoline product you need for your application”.
“The market places a lot of emphasis on specifications”, says Jeroen Santcroos, Valvoline marketing manager. “Valvoline lubricants go beyond industry and OEM requirements to provide better care, taking into account different operating conditions, such as high performance, stop-and-go driving or engines with higher kilometers”.
Valvoline’s engine oil line up includes products for passenger vehicles and commercial applications. For passenger cars, Valvoline offers five distinctive brands:
- SynPower – Offering added performance for high power engines
- MaxLife – Extra ingredients for engines with over 100,000 kilometers
- DuraBlend – Boosted for tough conditions and extended service intervals
- Turbo – Advanced chemistry and features in a mineral formula
- VR1 Racing – Race proven technology for high performance and racing conditions
Nico De Kievit, Valvoline product manager, explains the thinking behind the new product line. “If you watch someone pick up a bottle of oil, you understand why Valvoline has made these important changes. It’s all about helping users make better choices for their engine. New graphics highlight important manufacturer specifications on the package front, so it’s easy to locate the right product.”
